Hello:  Let me tell you a few words.
This is a story about a nightmare I had once
in a bad night

 THE RESTAURANT

Part 1

Laura awoke with a depressive mood.  An awful sun came in by the bedroom window and made impossible to remain lazy in bed.  She waked depressed and Pablo was trying to cheer her up with his usual tricks.
-I’m going to have an awful day!  -Said Laura still laying in bed-.
-Don't say that, dear.  It will be a lovely sunny day.
   -I don’t know.
   -Look at the window!
-But it will happen as yesterday.  All day was cloudy.  You know of my headaches when it’s cloudy.

Laura started to get up without much will and began to stretch her arms. She was wearing a synthetic silk pajama.  The kind that gives you mild electric shocks.  Pablo got very excited usually with them. By the half opened door of the bedroom you could see the sunlight that rushed into the corridor from the living room.  Laura went into the bathroom, she was not yet fully awaked and washed slightly her face, stretched out her arms once more and went out to the corridor.  There was plenty of time for a shower.  She was wearing her slippers and went to the living room.  Here the morning sun was fully coming in though the naked large window.  Laura was mildly shocked to see a lot of unknown people in the living room.  An old lady was on the armchair knitting something while two ladies more were just chatting on a couch; and a third was on another armchair reading an old newspaper.
   -Good morning, madam!
This was said by the woman who was reading the paper and sounded as if having a mocking ring.  The other women echoed the greeting.  A pair of children were riding on the back of the couch, three more were running around the room and some more were just crawling on the carpet.  In front of the telly two children were able to tune an interactive play channel.  And they were very happy shooting Martians dead.  Beautiful age.
Laura had a face as if she were living a nightmare.
-Excuse me for the question, but...  who are you?
-Oh!  What a memory, madam!  We are Saint John’s people.
-What Saint John are you talking about?
   -Saint John “The Brave”.
Laura was awed.  She didn’t understood a word.
   -What is that? -she asked.
-Oh, madam.  How is your head this morning!  We are the earthquake’s people!
   -The earthquake.  What earthquake?
-Sorry, madam.  It seems you’ve awaked this morning with the head in the clouds.  Which earthquake could be? The Saint John’s quake.  The worst one in the millennium.
These words came from the lady who was sitting in the armchair reading the newspaper.
Laura felt very bad with all the sun that came in by the large window with the opened curtains.  And then, all these children running around the room, shouting and crying by shifts, were wearing down the nerves of Laura.  Really, the children were not shouting much if we were going to believe the “sonometer”.  It was reading only eighty five decibels with peaks of ninety two.  This were nothing for kids used to shout loudly on the slopes of a neighborhood without asphalt or sewers.  Laura was lucky for this children were used already to live in such a fine house;  they were shouting much less louder.  About five or seven decibels less.  This was because with the strong walls and the double plate glass on the windows most of the sound was reflected.  So the shrilling of the children’s shouting hurtled much to their own sensible ears.
One of the small children went crawling till Laura’s feet to play.  Laura fell on the floor clumsily.  There was a long time poor Laura did not messed with crawling babies.  Just in the floor, she felt less irritated than helpless.  Then Pablo came in by the corridor, as fresh and charming as ever.  Laura from the floor look at him irritated. She could not understand how this man was always so happy.
-Who are these people?  -she asked to her husband.
-It’s nothing, baby.  These are the victims.
   -What do you say?
-The victims from the quake.  They are good people.  They were chosen by our friend Henry so as you would have not much trouble with them.  Do you remind Henry?  Our friend from the social services?
-But how are we going to live with so many people?
-I thought you were already used to it.  They are at home for more than three months.  And they will remain here until the government could provide them with a new house.  We must be patients at least for a few years.
Laura felt very queer today with all those kids running around the living room. And above all, she was mad with her stupid husband who always found everything so nice and natural.  It seemed he never got any annoyance and looked as if he were immunized against all vexations and troubles.  So it was to her alone that came all ills and the crosses of the world.  She felt that the headache was coming quickly to her and this day it will come a horrible one.
-Oh, dear, dear, -said Pablo with tenderness-.  You have a pitiful face.  Why don’t you take a shower to exorcise the headache?  Afterwards, we can go to a restaurant to forget all this.
Laura was not in situation to make an argument.  But the idea of a shower was looking bright to her.  She went to the bathroom and, arriving there, a half open door was sending out an unpleasant odor.  Ugh! Said Laura at the foul smell.  Sorry, madam! -said a voice from the bathroom- I’ve got loose bowels.
She went back again to the living room.  It was still full of sun and noisy children.  Now she was aware that the kids were running on the spacious place around the living room’s furniture.  All pieces were pushed to the center of the room by the ladies with the intention to make room for the children to run around.  So you could look at the healthy kids, so lively running and shouting.  It was a glorious sight.  But Laura rise her hands to the head as if trying to keep out the incoming headache.  Pablo, seeing her in this attitude, put his hands around her head in a tender gesture.  In doing this Pablo heard a girl telling to another:  He is going to kiss her.  He is going to kiss her in the mouth.  Look.  Look, how exciting!
-You look a pity, Laury, -said Pablo-.  Forget the shower.  We are going out to a restaurant.  Don’t worry.  With a little luck it is going to pour down on us a light squall that will have the same effect as a shower in the bathroom.
Laura was easily convinced by the reasonable words of her husband.  His words were nearly magic.  With them Pablo always won from her almost any whims he could fancy.

THE RESTAURANT
- Part 2 -
Laura wearing still their pajamas left the flat with Pablo.  They started to go down the stairs lovely held by the hands.
  -This place is rather dark.
-I know that, darling.  But the lift is out of order, you know.
  -!
-All this is the fault of the earthquake.
   -!
-Moreover, going on foot is a good exercise.
   -!
-It can reduce the cellulite that so much worry you.
   -!
-A walk will be good for you.
This was the way they usually had a chat.

Now in the street they found that there were many clouds in the sky.  It was going to shower.  But there was space in the sky also for the sun.
-It is impossible to have better auguries  -said aloud Pablo-.
   -How nice.
-Rain and sun.  The moon in Saturn’s house.
   -Good.
-Mars jumping over the fence of Venus.
   -It’s a cheer.
Laura almost put a foot inside a small hole on the floor, but Pablo take hold of her preventing a fall in the last few seconds.  So much was his ability that he did it in spite o being with his head fully occupied viewing the astral positions.
-Mars is jumping over the fence of Venus yard.
   -Yeah.
-Perhaps those planets were predicting concupiscent expectations.
   -!
-Who knows what have in mind all those lewd planets, so prone to loafing around in the nights.

Laura was walking with a raised head, holding hands with her husband and inhaling the fresh air of the morning.  The headache was wholly dissipated into nothingness.  She was wearing her fine silk pajama...  you know this.  It was a kind of trousers pajamas of very wide legs.  These went up to flight into the air with the slight breeze in this unsettled weather; and they flew often this morning like a weightless and impudent skirt.
The first drops of rain started to fall.  It was nothing.  Small drops of nothing.
   -My pajama is getting wet.
-Look at the bright side, Laura.  So it discharges a bit all this electricity you are carrying.
They started to fall some drops of peas size but they were repealed and changed direction at the feeling of the electric charge.  But slowly the silk weave started to loose the positive charge and started to get wet.  Laura saw herself nearly naked.  Her pajama was stuck to the curves of her body by rain.
-This was a very bad idea.
   -Ooh?
-Where do you say we are going?
   -To the restaurant.
-But this it is not time for a lunch!
-Never mind, dear.  If we arrive late, we are not going to found a table.
Laura was now aware that it was a small crowd walking on the street.  All people went in he same direction.
-Where are all these people going?
-I think they are all going to the restaurant.
   -!
-I told you this must be a very fine place.  We must hurry up.  Some could get there sooner and we could not get a free table.
Laura thought all this was absurd.  But her husband’s words always looked so logical that she never rejected them.  So she went stepping on the pools of rain and splashing water like a naughty girl.  The silk pajama was wholly damped by the rain and she felt naked.  She looked around to the other people walking on the street to see if somebody was looking at her with lustful eyes.  But nobody was looking at her naked beauty.   She was afraid of being loosing her sex appeal.  Her own husband, always insatiable, neither was looking at her naked body.  Everybody was paying attention to their own walking.  She felt her husband was making her to hasten their pace. Everybody was going to the same place.  This was disappointing.
-Where is going all this people?
-I have already told you, Laura.  All they are going to the restaurant.
-But look at my pajama!  It is soaking!
   -It is only wet, Laurie.
-And to top all this it is raining.
-But, look how it is shining by that side.  Your pajama will dry in a moment.
   -I look naked!
-You look very nice naked -said Pablo taping her quietly on her buttocks with his hand’s palm.
She felt a pleasant sense with the clap.  She sensed like an electric discharge in her agreeable centers and the zones nearby.  She felt very comforted.  A light wave of sober joy make her body vibrate.  She felt better and sensed the strong arm of her husband pressing her shoulders.  She let him take her at a lively pace in spite of having her sleepers soaking.

There is still more of the story

THE RESTAURANT
   Part 3
Arriving at a crossing, they saw a stream of muddy water running along the wide street.
-We must cross here -said Pablo.
-By here?  It is horrible!  The street is full of water!
-This is only shallow water, Laurie.
-My sleepers are going to soak!
-They are soaking already.  Do not worry.  Look.  Everybody is crossing in this place.
Then, Laura had to accept her husband was right again.  Everybody was crossing in spite of the water running the street.  Laura did no liked to follow the fancies of the crowd.  But it was clear this restaurant would be a very interesting place.  There would not be better reason.
The water was running quickly above their ankle’s height.
-I am getting wet -said Laura.
-It is nothing but a foot bath.  Very good for blood  circulation.
Laura felt some irritation again seeing her husband found everything bearable.  She was prone to rebel against all the elements and social constraints.  But her husband was always sweetly pushing her to the back garden of his own meekness.  He found everything right and always had logical reasons to explain the more absurd situations.
At last they crossed the street ravine and saw a porter wearing a nice mauve shining uniform.  It was made with a gross woolen tissue with lapels sewed at double cloth.  These lapels were crossed and had big brass buttons reflecting the sunlight that in this very moment was opening a clear into the clouds to show us we were arriving to the restaurant.
The light reflected by the buttons were dazzling the sight.  But this was not to hinder Pablo to look with envy the thick silk braids of a shining green color hanging from the porter’s shoulders.  This braids were finished by big tassels like those that were used by old aristocratic families to call their servants.  The porter was showing a face of unexpected dignity.  His front was risen up as if were looking to a bright future and showed us a wide and protuberant chin.  Moreover he was able to increase his noble appearance by a belly of good size;  this came from the prudish crotch to his proud neck.
-You can see how well fed the porter is -said Pablo-.  Were this a mean restaurant it would not be much food left to feed the employees.  If it were the case you could see this porter emaciated.  This tell us the restaurant is of much plenty and great quality.

The porter was pointing to the stairs with his extended arm without telling a word.  Perhaps, he had instructions from the management of being still for not discomposing his solemn stand.  So the crowd that was arriving at this very moment did not seem to need farther explanations.  Everybody understood perfectly that they must go up these narrow concrete stairs. They were very steep and flexible that were free from any material obstruction on both sides.  I image they were made so as to let them swing freely in space.  As the crowd was going up it was generated a light and soft rocking as if you were in a ship.  Some felt a kind of sea-sickness.  Laura’s husband pushed her softly to make her go up the stairs.  In several parts the stairs had no any handrail and in other parts were as rail a hasty contrivance of planks in the way they are used in construction sites.  But this do not inspired anybody to put their hand in them.  They gave the impression that if you touch them without any care they will fall down to the street over the crowd that was coming to the place.
Laura, Pablo and all the crowd were going up the long and narrow stairs.  I was rocking as I said.  And the swinging was so harmonious that the stair was probably an architecture masterpiece.  It was not crazy to think that this very place could be a site for peregrine architect students.  They would come from all the world to admire the work and shot pictures.  So they could probe proudly with these photos they were in this very place.
-How long it takes to arrive? -said Laura panting.
-We must be near the end.
Pablo’s words comforted Laura.  Her husband was always right;  well, most of the time.  Even, when Laura had any of these horrible headaches,  he always made with his able fingers a kind of massage that changed the bad disposition of her body.  Just a moment ago Laura was saying no and minutes later she was telling yes.  Pablo was nearly witch.  And he was very patient.  He knew that some acts should be made slowly or not at all.  And he never came in unless Laura was begging him to.  The headaches with this treatment vanished in just a moment.

   End of part 3

Just a little more to finish

THE RESTAURANT
   Part 4
At last Laura and Pablo came to the end of the stairs.  They were finished with a kind of bridge to the left who let them before a dark cavernous entrance.  There was a small plucky woman making gestures of greeting in a kind of Japanese manner.  She was telling something that sounded as Mandarin Chinese and making gestures with her arms for the people to enter and go in by the long corridor.  This was making turns and turns in right angles.  And all they were always turning to the left.  Then the corridor was running down in a ramp so as they always were going down.  Everybody was going very sure and nobody was worrying by the dim light of the corridor.
At last, after many turns, there it was a wall with a great placard that said "Restaurant Entrance".   Under the placard there was a door.  It was a door rather queer that it had a small size; about three foot high.   Laura  saw the efforts made by a Yankee of big size to pass the door.  The Yankee shrank and and twisted himself with such ability that passed through the door.  Laura thought with reason that if a Yankee of this size could pass by the door it would be very easy for her.  And just in a flash she was shrinking herself to pass through the door.  Pablo was relieved that he was not in need to push or instruct her wife to pass through.
Once they passed the door they saw themselves in a kind of Spanish patio.  At least Pablo was not an expert in architecture but had an inner conviction that it was a Spanish patio.  He could not explain the reasons.  It was like an instinct.  There was a big tropical palm growing in a huge oak barrel and the floor was covered with big basaltic tiles.  Noble Spanish basalt, certainly. This alone was a detail that gave a rank to the patio.  In the wall an arrow was painted; it was telling the way to the restaurant. Then they arrived to a point where it was a hedge to control the orderly access to the mess hall.    This must be the place, Pablo thought.
-Can come in ten more -said a chap with the look of being a waiter.   He has a not very clean shirt and you could see clearly some stains of red wine and olive oil in it.  Moreover, by the part of the belly you could see the shirt had an uncertain gray color.
I said the pass was barred by a hedge.  It was a singular hedge as only you could find in a restaurant as desired as this.  It was an ecological barrier. The hedge was made with real and alive plants.
It was made of box very carefully trimmed and expertly mixed with piracanthas and ivies.   All this was mixed with a wild art.  Most of the customers show in their faces how eager they were to enter at the dinning room.  Being most of them of athletic complexion, they did have any doubt about jumping easily over the hedge as it was not so high. But Laura never was very good at gymnastics or sports and she was embarrassed with the prospect of being unable to jump.  Pablo saw a way to pass to the other side of the  hedge without risking to break a leg.  It was there a small hole under the fence.  If you crawl on the floor a little bit you could pass easily to the other side.  Pablo was  able to jump but rest beside his wife to crawl under the hedge with her.  In this way Laura entered creeping under and felt herself very happy.  It was a long time she did not make such an exercise.   When she went to the other side she said aloud:  What a pleasure, to crawl by the floor!  Pablo went in after her.   They stood and walk a few yards when they found another obstacle.    A very big and plump woman was barring the way.  She had the look of being the cook or perhaps the cook assistant.  I figure this because she was covered with a white overall  rather soiled with oil from the frying.
The woman seeing them with their hands empty asked them in a rude manner:  "Hey! You! Where are the food?"  They were perplexed, because they were ignorant about the subject of restaurants.  They arrived till there  without bringing anything to eat.  The impatient lady drove them out saying:  Out of here!  Out! Let pass to the customers!
Pablo felt he has a right to make at least a question.
-What do you advise us, madam, to do?
-Go back to the point of start and bring some food.
Laura was very annoyed.  But Pablo reasoned with a smile saying that all the fault was his.  He had not the foresight of coming here well supplied for the trip. He hugged Laura with a strong arm to alleviate her of this disappointment. She felt the strength of his arm on her shoulders and calmed down.
-It is only natural, Laury.  This restaurant is very important and we need to accept its norms.  Not were for this the world will sink into anarchy.
Pablo accepted the situation with intelligent resignation.  In a place so much demanded one is not coming with his own demands.   And they went back toward the ecological barrier.  But it was in this moment all occupied by a crowd of hungry customers jumping merrily over the hedge.  And  when they looked at ground they saw all the lower openings full of people less sportive that was crawling eagerly to enter into the restaurant.
Pablo decided to wait until the hedge was free of so many eager customers fighting to enter at the dinning room.   You could see the absence of the waiter who maintained the order when they came in.  He was out somewhere and now all was submersed in a state of anarchy.  To calm the nerves of of Laura, Pablo was hitting her softly with his hands in her buttocks.  She felt how light waves of pleasure were expanding into her body.  On the other side, her silk pajama was already dry and was starting to get a static charge of electricity.  With this charge the silk tissue started to float and wave in the air like something immaterial.  Because of these qualities, Laura felt in her sensible skin the light currents  of air that were rising around her warm thighs.   This was exciting her as this effect made her feel totally naked.  This feeling was much increased in some  privileged days; but she never asked why this happened.  Laura knew that any moment one of those athletic customers jumping the hedge was going to be aware of her fine thighs.  To a certain degree they were hidden to the sight by the silk but at the same time they were very near to the touch for a dauntless hand.   An indiscreet hand who had the courage to loose the manners of decency.  One of those moments utterly inexplicable.  She really felt something like this was going to happen any moment.
There was a time that Laura saw a flash of lust in the eyes of a young man who was crawling under the hedge.  She thought he was looking at her in a lustful manner and this enhanced farther her excitement.
But the young man could manage to control firmly his lower instincts. And once he stood up he went directly to the cook who was controlling the way of the customers with her huge body and strong arms.  The young man gave her some chops and pork sausages and went directly to the dinning room.  Everybody brought some food for the cook.  Some brought some beef and others chickens and rabbits.  Others brought some bottles of wine. Modest people brought just some eggs to make an omelet with fried potatoes.
Pablo in spite of his simplicity and lack of precautions has an infinite patience and was ready to come back home again and take out all the food needed.  This time he would be able to pass to the dinning room like everybody else.
