SHORT STORIESABOUT THE VIRGINS PROTECTED BY GODDESS ATHENAUnder the iron watch of the governess the young maidens
are
isolated in the gynoeceum, the women quarters. They are in there
spinning the wool or weaving in the looms for ever and ever. And they
do not let ever be seen by the lascivious young men, not even by the
sun. This is because the divine Apollo, while flying by the sky on his
solar chariot, he looks down to enjoy the sight of the virginal thighs
of the maidens and their aphrodisian mounds covered by thin hair. The purity of maidens also runs a great embarasement when they go with their servants for the choral rehearsals of the goddess Athena. The lewd idlers look at them without any modesty or circumspection. Some are so impudent as to utter loudly obscene comments. The rude slave workers, that are laboring in the ramparts, they give out insolent long whistles. And the foremen can not control their lower urges; not even by the cracking of their whips in the air. The summer nights are another source of disruptions to the maidens virginity. During these nights, due to the sultry heat, they let small windows opened. This is a source of worries. As by these very window openings the lewd spirits of the satyrs and other lubricious beings could enter into the house. There are also liberal families that allow the women and maiden to sleep out in the yards to enjoy the fresh air of the night. And in the best part of the slumber it could happen that some lust spirits, or weird small beings, come down sliding by the rays of the moonlight. They go here and there around the sleeping maidens. And they come in near and put in their little snout, very carefully, sniffing the chaste crotch of the maidens; this occurs even in spite that we all know that they send out very subtle, almost imperceptible, scents. It is said, but it is very difficult to prove this point,
that
maidens have aphrodisian dreams in the summer, full of lust fantasies.
Then they twist and rave and moan in their dreams. Sometimes one
sleeper wakes up with the gasping and pleasant moaning. When this
happens we feel envy for pleasures of the sleeping virgin. This is a fragment from Afrodisia |
